Digital Photo Sharing Online
Share photos with family and friends easily and safely with photo sharing websites Flickr and Picasa.
Flickr
A site enabling you to store, sort, search and share your photos online
Flickr is free, easy to use and others don't have to have an account to view your photos. The site offers you photo statistics ("stats") so you can track how others are finding your photos online and also to let you know how many views your photos have had. Flickr is compatible with other social media sites, and if you wish to edit your photos, you can do so through it's partner site, Picnik. In addition, you have the option to upgrade to a paid Pro account for more features. Picasa
A free Google download that helps you organize, edit and share your digital photos on the Web
Like Flickr, Picasa is also free, easy to use and doesn't require others to have an account to view your photos. It comes equipped with free photo editing software and makes it simple to print pictures at home or order photos and gifts online. Picasa also allows you to organize your photos based on the people in them (known as "name tags") while also allowing you to add "geo-tags" to photos to remember exactly where the photos were taken using Google Maps. Both sites allow the option for you to make your photos public so they can be shared with others around the world and searched for in a public forum. However, if privacy is a priority, you can limite access with the click of a button. Bonus Tip: To avoid embarrassing photos of you being posted online by others, don't do anything stupid!
