PRose with Special Guest Denna Babul

Catch up on the latest PRose' podcast and find out why you might not want to follow the trend of giving a watch instead of an engagement ring with Denna D. Babul, author of Love Strong: Change Your Narrative, Change Your Life and Take Your Power Back; and The Fatherless Daughter Project: Understanding Our Losses and Reclaiming Our Lives. Denna talks with Cyndee Woolley and Vikki Locke about relationships, sex, great books, Matthew McConaughey, and how the more you know about who you are and what you need, the easier it is to find love with the right person.

Denna, an expert in the field of relationships, is also a Registered Nurse, TV personality, sought after speaker, and relationship coach.  In her book Love Strong: Change Your Narrative, Change Your Life and Take Your Power Back she explains core traits – which are something we need to figure out both for ourselves, and for what we want in another person. When people’s core traits are misaligned, a relationship is not likely to last.

Deena recalls relationships she had in her 20s ending with her being a wreck and coming to the vital realization that she had always been trying to avoid abandonment, and so she was always choosing men she could walk away from. “If I really dig down into that— my core want is for someone to love me for who I am,” she explains. “I didn’t know who I was as a partner. I didn’t know how to be the partner I needed to be.” Others might find their core traits are the need be fully accepted as who they are, or the need to be able to trust someone.

We all make mistakes in our relationships early in our dating life, but Deena explains that core traits are more important in relationships than any other element – even more important than sexual attraction or compatibility. Women with a list of what they want to find in a partner are often missing the most important element. Find out more by listening to the full podcast and hear her insight into successfully getting the love that you want.
